Getting Started

What is Speq?
Speq is a live meeting AI coach. It joins your calls (Teams, Zoom, or Google Meet), transcribes in real time, and provides AI-powered coaching — flagging risks, policy issues, action items, and opportunities while the meeting is still happening. Upload your project documents to train the coach on your specific domain.
How is Speq different from Otter, Fireflies, or other note-takers?
Note-takers transcribe and summarize after the meeting. Speq coaches you during the meeting — real-time advisory, mid-meeting Q&A, document-grounded insights, and structured debriefs. You can also upload project documents (SOWs, policies, contracts) so the AI understands your specific context.
How do I get started?
Sign up for a free account at speq.bot. From the dashboard, paste a meeting link (Teams, Zoom, or Google Meet), select a coach profile, and click Start. Speq joins the call and begins coaching. No software to install — everything runs in your browser.
What platforms does Speq work with?
Microsoft Teams, Zoom, and Google Meet. Speq joins via a meeting link — paste the link, and the bot connects automatically.
Does Speq work on Mac?
Yes. Speq is entirely browser-based — it works on any device with a modern browser. Windows, Mac, Linux, even a tablet.

How It Works

Does a bot join my call?
Yes. When you start a meeting, a Speq bot joins the call to capture audio. Participants will see the bot as an attendee, similar to how other meeting tools work. The bot name is configurable from your settings.
What does the AI coach do during the meeting?
Every few minutes, the AI analyzes the conversation and provides real-time insights: action items, risks, contradictions, policy issues, and follow-up recommendations. If you've uploaded project documents, the coach references them automatically — for example, flagging when a discussion contradicts your SOW or travel policy.
What are coach profiles?
Coach profiles let you create separate AI configurations for different clients, projects, or domains. Each profile can have its own custom prompts and uploaded documents. For example, you might have one profile for Client A with their SOW and contract, and another for Client B with different documents and a different coaching focus.
How do I train the coach with my documents?
Go to Coach Profiles, create or edit a profile, and upload documents (PDF, DOCX, or text files). The AI automatically processes and indexes them. During meetings using that profile, the coach references your documents when analyzing the conversation and answering Q&A questions.
Can I customize the AI prompts?
Yes. The advisory, summary, Q&A, and debrief prompts are fully editable — both globally in Settings and per coach profile. Tailor them to your industry, role, or project so the AI focuses on what matters to you.
What is mid-meeting Q&A?
At any point during a meeting, you can ask the AI a question. It answers using the full conversation context, your uploaded documents, and any screenshots you've captured. For example: "What does our travel policy say about business class?" — and the coach gives you the answer instantly, grounded in the actual document.
What are screenshots used for?
Speq automatically captures shared screens during meetings and uses them to give the AI coach visual context — useful when someone is presenting slides, spreadsheets, or applications. You can also manually capture a screenshot at any time and include it in a Q&A question for more targeted analysis.
What is a debrief?
When a meeting ends, Speq generates a structured debrief — not just a transcript. It includes key decisions, action items, risks, follow-ups, and references to your uploaded documents. Think of it as the meeting recap you wish someone would write for you after every call.

Privacy & Security

Will other participants know I'm using Speq?
Yes — a Speq bot joins the call as a participant, similar to other meeting tools. Depending on the platform, participants may see a recording notification. We recommend informing meeting attendees, which is also best practice for compliance.
Is my audio recorded or stored?
No audio files are permanently stored. Audio is processed in real time for transcription and discarded. Only the text transcript, AI analysis, and any screenshots you capture are saved.
Is my data encrypted?
Yes. All data in transit is encrypted via TLS. Transcripts, documents, and meeting data at rest are stored in Supabase with encryption enabled.
What happens to my uploaded documents?
Documents are stored securely and processed into searchable chunks for the AI coach. They are scoped to your coach profile — documents from one profile are never shared with another. You can delete documents at any time, which removes all associated data.

Billing

How does the free plan work?
You get 1 hour of meeting time per month with all features included — live coaching, document training, Q&A, debriefs, everything. No credit card required. When you've used your hour, upgrade to continue.
What plans are available?
Free (1 hour/month, 1 coach profile, $0), Starter (5 hours/month, 3 profiles, $19), Personal (10 hours/month, 5 profiles, $29), and Professional (30 hours/month, 10 profiles, $49). All AI features are included on every plan — the differences are meeting hours and number of coach profiles.
Can I cancel anytime?
Yes. Cancel from Settings → Manage Subscription. Your plan stays active until the end of the current billing period. After that, you're automatically moved to the free plan. No cancellation fees.
What happens when I reach my monthly limit?
You'll get a warning when you're close to your limit. If you reach it during a meeting, you get a 5-minute grace period to wrap up. After that, the meeting ends automatically. Upgrade your plan for more hours, or wait for the next billing cycle when your usage resets.
Do unused hours roll over?
No. Hours reset at the start of each billing cycle.
